A Stroke of Luck

I have the crappiest leopard luck on planet earth. Even when everyone reported epic leopard sightings from Gir, I had no hope in hell. I was ok to just find the sitting lions. This safari however, changed things around a bit. We were driving to a point where we were expecting some lion cubs to be at and were at a relatively high speed for the forest. As we asked the driver to slow down, he braked suddenly. It took me by surprise and as my eyes scanned the grassland in front, I said, "Lion". Probably my brain didn't expect a leopard sitting in front of me.

Before long, both Anuroop and I realised it's a leopard! A rather large one, sitting quite nonchalantly in the open. He sat there for just a little under two minutes. Those two minutes felt like eternity in digital camera land. What a beautiful lad he was. I hope I see more leopards in the future and that my luck changes. I'll never ever forget this sighting though!
